"App analysis" can provide various data such as App Store impressions, product page views, App purchases, sales, installations, App usage times, etc., to help developers measure iOS and Apple tvOS user engagement, marketing activities, and revenue Happening.

App analysis includes a total of three dimensions of indicators, namely App Store, sales, and use. "App Store", "Sales" part of the data is "pre-sales data", in the "App Analysis" 100% displayed to developers, and "use" part because Apple believes that this involves users related to the operation of App related data, there is privacy Security issues, so the "use" part is only the data provided by relevant users who are willing to share this part of the data.

The data provided by the App Store is mainly calculated from the perspective of the device, because if the user does not log in to the AppleID, they can also browse the content in the App Store, but there is also a need for data statistics at this time. This part of the data provides data on "Impressions" and "Product Page Views."
1. Impressions

That is, the number of times the App has been viewed in the "Special Topics", "Category", various leaderboards, and "Search" sections of the App Store, including "Product Page Views". It can be understood as the number of times the icon / title / listed image is seen in the App Store (at the same time, seeing these items is only counted once).

Under "Impressions", there is a "Independent access device" check box. If this option is checked, it means that the data of a single device and repeated browsing to a single app is removed here. It is mainly used to check how many independent users per day / week / month I saw my product in the App Store (default 1 device = 1 user).

Through the App Store impressions, you can know how often users click to download the app through a certain part of the App Store, so as to know which part of the App Store has a better conversion rate and is more suitable for the display of their own App.
2. Product page views
The total number of times the App product page was viewed. Click on the icon / title / star / listing diagram of the product, and the page entered is the "product details page". Users who view the "product details page" generally browse the product description and user comment content.

Sales
View sales through App purchases, in-app purchases, and paying users. This part of the statistics is mainly based on Apple ID, mainly due to Apple's security mechanism and ecological considerations.

1. App purchases
The number of first app downloads in the App Store. Using the same Apple ID to update, download, and re-download apps to the same device is not included in the download quantity. For free apps, the number of "family sharing" downloads is included, but not for paid apps, only the first purchase is counted as one purchase. When viewing the data of "App Analysis", you can mainly browse the "App Purchase Volume", which is used to compare the recent downloads of reference products with third-party / own statistical tools.
2. In-app purchase items

"In-App Purchase Items" refers to the number of first purchases that users use Apple ID to purchase in-app purchase items. Promotional price subscriptions and subscription renewals are included in this indicator, regardless of whether they are on the same or different devices, in-app purchases that are restored are not counted.
3. Sales
"Sales" refers to the total amount paid by users using Apple ID to purchase apps, app packages, and in-app purchases.
"App Purchase Amount" only supports paid apps, and "Purchase App Set" only supports paid app sets. These three items can exist at the same time or at different times.

4. Paid users

"Paid user" refers to the number of users who have had the "sales" module behavior, and multiple purchases here are only counted as one user. If the product is a free product, and there is no package payment, no in-product purchase items, the data of the "sales" part and the "paying user" part are empty.

The data in the "Usage" section is counted from the "device" and "Apple ID" dimensions. The main reason is that part of the data is based on the Apple ID (such as "installation"), and part of the data is based on the device. (For example, "App usage times").

1. Installation
"Installation" refers to the installed volume of the App, where the installed volume includes the user ’s uninstalled and reinstalled, updated products, restored products (icon not deleted on the desktop), Apple ID shared re-download, home shared download, etc. Once the App is installed, it is counted as one installation.

iOS does not have the concept of "downloads", downloading is an action, and can be canceled during the download process of the App Store. After downloading, it will be automatically installed, so only the "purchased" and "installed" are counted in the statistics. Since the installation volume is not 100% displayed, the "purchase volume" displayed in the background of iTC may be larger than the "installation volume".

2. App usage times

Refers to the number of times the user normally uses the product for 2s or more, and can also distinguish the day, week, and month when viewing, which is approximately equal to the "user use frequency" / "user opening frequency" data of the third-party statistical app. From this data, you can also See the app's activity, whether users use products seasonally, etc.
3. Devices in active state

Refers to users who have used the product at least once within a certain period of time, that is, users who have turned on the product for at least 2s and more within a certain period of time ("active" does not refer to users who are currently online); the statistical indicators here are approximately equal to "Active users" of the tripartite statistical platform.

4. Active in the past 30 days
Refers to the number of active users going back 30 days on the current date, which can be equated to the number of active users in the last 30 days based on the current date.
Compared with the statistics presented according to each independent month, the advantage is that the 30 days here are forward daily, and the data can be better compared with the chain.

5. "Crash" section

"Crash" refers to the total number of crashes of the App in a certain period of time. Product crash refers to situations where the user opens the product and uses flashbacks, abnormal exits, or stuck and needs to be forced to close.
6. "Delete" section

Refers to the number of times the App has been deleted on the user's device. Here, "Number of times" is not the number of users who deleted the App, and "Delete" is not equal to "Uninstall". The data of the "Uninstall" App document will be retained and the icon will remain in the user. On the desktop, and delete, the desktop icon is deleted along with the App document data. If the user flashes back immediately (less than 2s) after opening, it will not be counted as "App Usage Times", only the number of "Crashes" will be recorded.

Because this part of the data is not counted in the lower version systems, this part of the data is only counted in iOS 12.3 and above systems and Apple TVOS 13.0 and above systems.

4. Click "View by" or "Add Filter" and select the analysis dimension. You can filter data by analyzing dimensions such as device, region, or source type, and you can also create stored views.

Precautions

1. Data source
The data displayed in App Analysis is limited to devices running macOS 10.14.1, iOS 8, Apple tvOS 9 or later. TestFlight Beta test data is not included.

2. Universal App

The iOS and Apple tvOS App, which are related to each other through Universal Purchase, appear as a separate app in App Analysis.
3. App package
The usage of the app package and the data of the purchase items in the app are associated with a single app in the app package, but it does not contain the data of a single app sold independently, and is based on the Apple ID of the single app.
4. iWatch App, iMessage App
For iOS apps that use the Watchkit framework or the Messages framework, the App Store and sales data extended by the app are included in the iOS app that provides the extension.
